Here Comes Ju.Lee

August 19th, 2010 | Photo Shoot | No Comments

There is a new girl in town and her name is Ju.Lee.  She is my muse for the new bridesmaid collection and the vision of the modern, romantic woman who is confident and independent but is also a dreamer.

This video was film during the photo shoot a couple of months ago.  Enjoy!

Ju.Lee Photo Shoot – Behind the Scene Footage

August 9th, 2010 | General | No Comments

It was almost two months ago since the Ju.Lee photo shoot but I still remember how much fun we had that day!  It was certainly a grueling 11 hour day but it was very exciting to put my vision to together.  There was a lot of things going on that day and unless you were there, you wouldn’t know from looking at the pictures.  This is why the behind the scene film put together by a friend of  mine Van Hsieh of Ocean Blue Creative will give you a back stage pass to our work.  I hope you will enjoy the film as  much as we all enjoyed putting the shoot together!

Top Fall 2010 Fashion Trends – Are they right for you?

August 3rd, 2010 | Fashion News, Trends | No Comments

As the temperature slowly rises, the fall fashion season is also approaching.  Although you might not even be thinking about sweaters and jackets, retail stores are already bringing out the looks.  This fall season’s styles are somewhat similar to last year but updated.

For the past couple of seasons, there is a new focus of what I called “feminine rock chic” – a combination of flirty styles mixed with a tough rock and roll attitude.  It’s no longer the girl next door – it’s the strong beautiful woman who is independent and not afraid to express herself.  This exemplifies the current economic situation that every woman faces.

Trends are exciting but sometimes we need to evaluate how we can update our styles each season.  I’m a risk taker when it comes to fashion but that doesn’t mean I will wear every single new trends out in the market.  I do, on the hand, praise Rihanna and Beyonce for their brave fashion moves.  It’s important to know who you are and stay true to yourself.  I’m a girly girl at heart so I like to wear clothing that is more feminine, but I do like some of the new updated trends for this fall season.

Ju.Lee Photo Shoot

July 14th, 2010 | Events, Photo Shoot | No Comments

I’m so excited to share with you some of the beautiful pictures from the Ju.Lee photo shoot at Clos LaChance Winery in San Martin, CA on June 14, 2010.  Karl Ko from Karl Ko Photography did a fantastic job along with Chyna Darner.  There were hundreds of pictures taken that day but I’m only going to show you a fraction of them.  Hey, I can’t reveal the fun all at once, right?  Don’t worry, there will be more to come!

I had loads of fun res-styling the models to create this fantasy photo shoot.  The look was very ethereal and whimsical.

What’s Now: Menswear Inspired Shoes

June 28th, 2010 | Trends | No Comments

What’s hot right now in footwear?  Menswear style shoes.  This trend started last year and continues to grow momentum.  As I was browsing through many retailers’ online shoe catalogs, I thought I accidentally went to the men’s category.  The styles ranged from loafers, biker boots to lace up oxfords with different price points.

These shoes are the new punk/rock style.  For the gals who don’t embrace the ultra feminine look, this might be a good alternative for you.  You can still wear your flirty day dress but when you wear it with lace up oxfords, for example, you are toughening up the overall girly look.

I’m a girly girl so I am not a big fan of menswear inspired shoes.  I prefer classic heels, sexy sandals, and feminine details like ruffles although I do like the fact that many menswear inspired shoes are comfortable.  Plus, it’s a not style that I can easily pull off like some people.  It takes a certain attitude to rock them.

What is your take on this trend?  Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Smell the Roses

June 23rd, 2010 | General | No Comments

The roses are in full bloom at the Rose Garden in San Jose!  It is definitely one of my favorite places to go to for a quick break after a long working day.

I notice that I don’t take as many pictures as I used to.  Maybe it’s because I’m always so focus on my work and forget about the little things that make me happy.   But I think it’s time for me to recapture precious little moments that I often overlook everyday.

Instead of my usual walk at the park, I took my camera with me this time.  I’m not a professional photographer and don’t own a fancy high tech camera either.  So, bear with me on my amateur photos.  Here I am sharing with you some of the lovely roses that I saw at the Rose Garden.  No matter how busy you are, remember to always cherish every moment of your lives, my friends!  Check out the Rose Garden in San Jose and take some time to smell the roses…  Cheers!

Photo Shoot at Pacific Oaks Vineyard Estate

June 17th, 2010 | Photo Shoot | No Comments

One of the most exciting parts of running a fashion business is having a photo shoot.  Typically, I will initiate the project but from time to time, other local vendors would ask me to participate.  As busy as I usually am, how could I say no?  Since I normally work by myself, it’s a treat to work with other people for a change.

Erin Andrew’s Provocative Outfit in DWTS

May 20th, 2010 | TV Shows | No Comments

DWTS Logo

As a big fan of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars (DWTS), I couldn’t possibly miss episode 9 the semi final on Monday, May 17, 2010.  This was one of the most exciting episodes of the entire competition where they select the final three couples for the season finale next week.  We all know that Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger and 2010 Winter Olympic Figure Skating Champion Evan Lysacek would make it to the final (how could they not?!)  So the competition really came down to either Erin Andrews with Maks Chmerkovskiy or Chad Ochocinco with Cheryl Burke.
